The Smoko Room at the Sawmill Brewery will re-open on Wednesday 2nd September at 12pm and will be adhering to Level 2 guidelines as set out by the Ministry of Health and other government agencies.

During Level 2 we will be continuing our no reservation policy throughout the day and we will continue to accept bookings for dinner from 5.30pm onwards.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate groups that are larger than 10 people during this time. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding around this.

We take the safety of our customers, employees, and suppliers very seriously.

We would like to take the time to share with you the measures we have put in place while we operate at Level 2.

For your safety and reassurance, we are taking the following steps:

  • Our customers will be seated when they are visiting our premises
  • Our customers will be seated no less than 1 metre apart from other guests
  • Your table will be served by a single server who will observe the physical distancing guidelines
  • Our staff have been well trained in maintaining excellent hygiene standards, particularly hand hygiene and coughing/sneezing etiquette.
  • A contract tracing register is kept for all customers, employees, and suppliers that interact with our business. This is in order to maintain records to enable contract tracing. We will provide these records to the Ministry of Health and/or the relevant District Heath Board on request.
  • Increased sanitising of all high touch surface areas, including but not limited to, door handles, doorknobs, eftpos machines, point of sale systems.
  • Increased washing and sanitising of all food contact surfaces and equipment
  • Hand sanitiser is freely available for customers to use

We request of our customers:

  • To please stay at home if you are unwell or self-isolating
  • To sign in through our QR code or allow our staff to complete contract tracing details for you and everyone in your group
  • To observe all signage and instructions from our staff while on our premises
  • To maintain physical distancing from all others of at least 1 metre while on our premises and while queuing

Thank you so much for your ongoing support.
